How can I help prevent cavities?
-Brush your teeth at least twice daily, floss and mouthwash daily to remove plaque between teeth and below the gum line.

-Undergo regular dental examinations. Preventive care helps prevent the occurrence

problems and minor problems from becoming major ones.

-Eat a balanced diet restricted in starchy or sugary foods.

When you eat these foods, try it with a meal rather than between meals to minimize the number of times that your teeth are exposed to
acid-producing bacteria.-Use dental products which contain fluoride, including toothpaste.

-Make sure your children’s drinking water contains adequate levels of fluoride.

The massive extent necessary for fluoride for teeth is salt, which should not be used in areas where natural water brings large amounts of fluoride and if salt is used without fluoride. Consult your local health authority to determine what kind of salt should be consumed.

If your dentist has told you have gum disease, you are not alone. Currently, about 80% of adults in America suffer from some form of this disease.

Periodontal disease can range from simple gum inflammation or gingivitis to a serious disease that can damage the soft tissues and bone that support the teeth. In severe cases, teeth fall out. Typically the disease occurs when plaque builds up along and below the gums.

Gum disease is a threat to your oral health. Research indicates that the effects of the disease could spread far beyond the mouth (we’ll explain that later). If the disease is stopped, stop advancing or worse will depend largely on how well you care for teeth and gums every day since receiving the diagnosis.

* Cleaning and Polishing of Surfaces and topically with Fluor.
Fluoride made by the dentist and crystallization produces a remineralization of tooth enamel, causing a significant increase in resistance of teeth to decay and decreases the adhesion of bacteria, improving the health of teeth and advisable encías.Es each six months.

* Pit and Fissure Sealants.
The Pit and fissure sealants reduce the incidence of caries in more than 60%, basically involves placing a resin on the surfaces of teeth masticantes later. With this seal the grooves and pits prevents the entry of bacteria that cause cavities.

* Teaching oral hygiene techniques.
This is achieved by reducing the colonies of bacteria that settle on the teeth that cause cavities and gum disease.

* Periodic consultation.
Visit your dentist regularly, this will help prevent oral problems and solve existing early, making it easier and less traumatic treatment.
