Breast milk is a rich source of bifidobacteria
According to research conducted by a group of scientists from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, claiming the breast milk in its nutritional value. This is due to compounds known as bifidobacteria, microorganisms that could be implemented now as pro biotic supplements.

The Complutense University of Madrid has been isolated from milk components called bifidobacteria. These organisms seem to collaborate together with the other components of breastfeeding in the infant’s intestinal colonization. Until now it was known that lactobacilli, staphylococci, streptococci and enterococci in excess could be pathogenic.
The information adds to the field explored by science vindicates the nutritional value of milk. To support this change, the Department of Nutrition, Food Science and Food Technology, University Complutense of Madrid together with researchers from the Netherlands, Wageningen University bifidobacteria separated and analyzed the benefits it has on the infant and the benefits that would use as probiotic supplements.
As a result of the study, bifidobacteria begin shipping in pharmaceutical preparations. Another possibility is to include in your baby ingest food during the first period of nutrition.
Juan Miguel Rodriguez, one of UCM Professors who is also director of the investigation, said that the problem with is the isolation of bifidobacteria that are totally anaerobic, is an eternal place in oxygen-free , which makes it difficult to maintain its viability once isolated.
The most important point of discovery is related to immunological and microbiological values of breast milk. If we take into account that an infant consumes about 800 milliliters of milk a day and within the same receives an average of 1 to 10 million bacteria, we noted the importance of breast milk and that it colonizes the small child , and prevents the settlement of pathogenic bacteria.
Juan Miguel Rodriguez explains, this is the most important feature, since these strains are the properties of modulation of the immune system so that the administration of these microorganisms could be useful for prevention or treatment of inflammatory or allergic in child or adult population.
